Pretty badly actually. Given equal drivers/course/weather/transmissions, bht 98+ Z28 will beat a stock TT. Even on the highway with stock boost on the TT, the Z28 will edge him out. The reason is, the 98+ not only had a listed +20 horsepower over the 97's, they had an ACTUAL +50hp addition. With over 100 dynos total in my friends Z28 club as well as countless websites/magazines/tv shows as proof, almost all Z28's in showroom condition will dyno at 290-300RWHP despite their 305 crank listing :) They were heavily underrated from the factory...perhaps to be in the same class as Cobras, yet spank em! That and insurance, etc... SO watch out for the 98+ cars...but like you said, Stage III and it's all over baby! Or less with a good driver!
